How to Donate

The Rainbow Coalition of Yellowknife and the Rainbow Centre are run by our Executive Director, Board of Directors and hardworking volunteers.

We're always looking for donations of things, time and funding to improve the Centre and the quality of programming for our youth and their allies.

Donating Things:

With the running of our Rainbow Youth Centre, we're always looking for furniture and housewares that might make youth feel more at home in the space.

Currently, we're hoping to find:

  • 2SLGBTQIAA+ related art
  • toiletries (deodorant, mini shampoos and conditioners, hygiene kits)

We’re also always looking for books, resources, movies, supplies, or other knick-knacks that you think might make our work easier.

Currently, we're hoping to find:

  • books and movies about intersectional 2SLGBTQIAA+ issues/identity
  • magazines about 2SLGBTQIAA+ issues/identity
  • school supplies/craft supplies
  • art supplies (canvases, paint, other art mediums)
  • iPads/tablets for youth use

Please contact us to arrange a drop-off or pick-up of supplies or donations.

Donating Time:

We’re always looking for people to donate their time as accountants, bookkeepers, lawyers, nurses, doctors, social workers, teachers or other professionals that can offer professional services as a donation.

If you're hoping to donate a service to us, please contact us.

Donating Funds:

We are a registered charity with the Canada Revenue Agency! This means we can provide tax receipts for donations made. We also have a CanadaHelps page that is in the works, so please be patient with us.
